Welcome to our gallery of paintings in the traditional style of Nepal and Tibet referred to as Thangkas. Thangkas are usually painted on canvas or silk mounted on a brocade border and protected by a silk cover, rolled up for easy storage and transport by Tibetan monks. Styles have changed over the centuries, but the basic format remains. Our collection includes both old and new, with some of the best new contemporary artists specializing in both applique and painting techniques.
